She’s back at home after that nasty fall, and a couple of days at the hospital. There were no broken bones (which is amazing), but she’s bruised and on the mend. Still filled with piss and vinegar, she’s sick of all the fuss over her (all the extra help and extra people cluttering up her house), and she’s slowly getting back into the swing (and schedule) of her life.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers, well wishes, and good thoughts sent our way. I found your support especially comforting, and there aren’t enough words to explain how much your kindness means to me.
I’ll be back next week with a new blog post.
hugs xo

Your mother’s EXACTLY like mine, especially the P&V part. Went through the same thing not long ago, and mine’s bounced back, just as yours has. Wish I had their resiliency. (Do have a little of the P&V, though.) 🙂 Hugs to all!

Gee, and I thought they broke the mold when they made my mom 😉 Looks like there has been a generation of strong, beautiful, and resilient women. That’s what living through a Depression and a world war will do to people, I think. What doesn’t defeat us makes us stronger.

Keeping her in prayer! I went through a similar situation with my mother in 2000, and then again with my own hip fracture in Jan-Feb 2011. Praying for you also and all the caregivers.:)

Darlene,
The extra personality your mother seems to have most certainly has helped her healing process! Glad she better!

I definitely agree with you. She’s a force to be reckoned with – the strongest woman I’ve ever known. If there’s a job that needs to be done, she doesn’t think twice about it, she just does it. And that includes healing 😉
